Altınordu was founded on 26 December 1923 and is the first club after the foundation of Turkish Republic.
The Founder of the club is Süleyman Ferit Eczacıbaşı who was also the founder of Türkiye's pharmaceutical, personal care and cleaning products company with the leading company.
One of the legends of the club, Sait Altınordu had played in Altınordu for 27 years and has been named as a footballer who have played in one club for the longest time in the world. Sait took the surname "Altınordu" symbolizes the value that he gave to the club.
Altınordu football branch has separated from the assocation management and has incorporated on 8 August 2012 with a new mission and vision under the presidency of Seyit Mehmet Özkan.
Altınordu FK's main motto is "Good Person, Good Citizen, Good Player"
According to these philosophies, the club invests to Turkish youth and called them "These Lands’ Children".
